Looking for a good pet insurance company for my two dogs

Hi everyone. I have 2 dogs, not sure if age, breed and size really matter but.. border collie x spaniel 55lbs 10months Lab x chow 50lbs 1yr and a half I’m looking for a good pet insurance company, and I’ve heard many people saying trupanion is iffy. I looked up quotes and it’s pretty expensive for my one dog and not the other. I’m in Canada if that matters lol Thanks in advance!

Pet insurance

Most pet insurance won't cover routine dental work. I had trupanion for 11 years with my last girl, and they were AMAZING! My girl had 2 root canals, and they covered it because it was for her canine teeth. They covered all her dermatology issues, eye surgery, arthritis, sciatica, multiple mass removals and all her cancer treatment, including chemo and holistic care. They saved me thousands, and definitely lost money on us. However, they are one of the most expensive out there - I looked into getting it for my new adopted guy, but it was going to be around $200/month, so I went with lemonade. For insurance, just make sure there is no cap out, or if there is, that it's plenty high - like 25k a year \[I'm a vet tech, and I've seen pets get euthanized because their er bill was getting past their insurances 10k a year cap out\].

Pet insurance

What's your experience with Trupanion pet insurance. Do you know if they cover dental check ups or surgeries?
