Lemonade pet insurance "pre-existing "

Im a first time dog owner and I have alot of questions. My rottweiler very obviously has hip dysplasia and my pitbull has preexisting uti problems treated in a different state . Once I get mailed his insurance card and take him to his first apointment, if the hip dysplasia is noticed will it be labeled as "pre-existing ". Meaning should I mention it the second vist and ask the vet not to say anything in their notes until then? Do I need to have a set primary vet or can I use two seperate ones for both dogs? (The elder will bite) Do I call the insurance to place a claim after the vet appointment or is there some sort of physical that needs to be done as a first apointment before they start covering things? If my elderly dog is very sickly can they raise the rates immediately? Also both dogs are chipped in my name but the insurance is through my partners work, and under his name will that cause any issues, ill be the only one taking them to the vet?Im sorry if this is alot , im reaserching it but the autism makes it difficult to pice all the little strands of everything together. Thank you for any response

Costco Figo pet insurance

It appears cheaper than most other quotes but I am wondering if this is for a reason (besides Costco 15% discount) like they are stricter with coverage or something like that. I am seeing several negative Reddit comments but nothing super positive. Likewise I see a lot of positive for Lemonade, Spot, etc. but also some negative (less so than Figo), as with anything that is being reviewed online. I am getting a puppy at 12 weeks. Thanks!
